Transit

  • First of all, please check here whether your country requires a visa or not.
  • Transit visas are issued to aliens processing through Japan to another country. Activities are limited to sightseeing, leisure, and rest.
  • If you transit between terminals at the aireport on the same day, You do not need a "Transit Visa”.
  • Please see here, for how to transit at Narita airports. However, some airlines require you to enter the country and pick up your luggage. We recommend that you confirm with your airline whether you need a visa in advance.
 

Required Documents

  1) Valid passport:
　　　☑ properly signed by bearer.
　　　☑ please make sure that there is at least 1 page lift in your passport for a visa to be affixed to.
  2) Visa Application Form:
　　　☑ completely filled-out and signed by the applicant.
　　　☑ please check here for how to fill out.
  3) Photo:
　　　☑ 2in X 1.4in
　　　☑ attached to application form.
  4) Entry-Permit (for Fereigners) :
　　　☑ Embassy will not make copies, please bring original and one copy.
  5) Visa for the next destination (if required):
　　　☑ Not required if Micronesians citizens visit the United States.

Process Time

  • The time to process an application for a Temporary Visitor visa depends on the applicant's circumastaces. In most case, it takes four to four working days if the documentation is in order.
  • ​There are some cases; however, in which a few weeks or more are needed to process an application.

  • Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents if deemed necessary.
  • Embassy will not make copies, if you need original documents, please bring original and one copy.
