Fire Trucks for Chuuk On Feb 7, 2014, the Chuuk State Government was officially handed-over the donation of the two fire trucks, equipments for the trucks, and training sessions that was granted to them in the end of October, 2013 in the amount of $89,936 by the Government of Japan. The grant was provided through Japan’s Grassroots Grant Aid Projects. The procurement of this project is a joint effort by the Embassy of Japan and two local governments in Japan that each donated one truck and the Embassy assisted with the cost of shipping, reconditioning of the trucks and training. Representing the Embassy of Japan, Counselor Masaki Tani was present at the ceremony.
