St. Cecilia School’s New Class-rooms from the Government of Japan
Counselor Mr. Masaki Tani of the Embassy of Japan officially kicked off the St. Cecelia’s School Renovation project on February 7, 2014 to construct two new classrooms and renovate the lavatory facilities on the campus. The grant in the amount of $121,870 USD was provided through Japan’s Grant Aid Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects.
Counselor Tani handed over the project with high hopes for a successful education for the students and urged government leaders and the heads of the school to “explore the numerous means to improve the education system”.
In response, Reverend Rosendo Rudolph, Vicar of Catholic Schools in Chuuk, expressed the school’s gratitude and appreciation for the assistance received from the Government of Japan.
The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Wilfred Robert, Chief of Staff in Chuuk, government officials, school board members, teachers, staffs and students.
