The Children Exchange Program: Delegation to Pohnpei State, FSM
2026/8/5
From July 30 to August 4, under the Children Exchange Program with Micronesian Islands, a delegation of 16 children from across Japan and 8 accompanying members, including the head of delegation, visited Pohnpei State of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). On the day of arrival, Ambassador Kagomiya welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the FSM’s history, culture, and natural environment. That evening, the Ambassador attended the welcome reception hosted by the Pohnpei State Government, offered welcoming remarks, and engaged with the children.
At the farewell reception held prior to their return, the Ambassador encouraged the participants to value their experiences and apply them to future learning and growth. The children performed Japanese songs, including a joint performance with children from Pohnpei who had visited Japan in June.
