Exequatur Ceremony for Honorary Consul-General Kembo Mida

On January 28, Ambassador Kagomiya and Mrs. Kagomiya attended the Presentation of Exequatur Ceremony for Honorary Consul-General (HCG) Kembo Mida held at Chuuk State Governor’s Office. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Wesley Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Mrs. Ancelly Simina, First Lady of the FSM, T.H. Alexander Narruhn, Governor of Chuuk State, and T.H. Marcus Samo, Secretary of Health and Social Affairs of the FSM. Honorary Consul-General Mida was appointed by the Government of Japan on December 1, 2025, with jurisdiction over Chuuk State.
 
President Simina, in his remarks, stated that this appointment is shared commitment between Japan and the FSM, demonstrating the strong “Kizuna (bond)” between the two nations.
 
In the evening, Ambassador Kagomiya hosted a networking reception to promote mutual exchange with the people of Chuuk. Ambassador Kagomiya, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation towards President Simina and Governor Narruhn in accepting Japan’s nomination of HCG Mida and reflected on the recent events surrounding the bilateral relations between Japan and the FSM. HCG Mida, in his remarks, shared his relations with Japan and shared his commitment to further strengthen the relations between Japan and the FSM. Governor Narruhn, in his special remarks, expressed his hopes towards HCG Mida in advancing the relations between Japan and Chuuk State. Ambassador Kagomiya looks forward to charting new paths to further strengthen the close friendship between Japan and the FSM, and relies on HCG Mida to strengthen Japan’s collaboration with Chuuk State.
