2026/10/29
On October 23, Ambassador Kagomiya attended the "FSM-Japan Business Forum" held in Tokyo. Under the theme of "Partnerships for a Sustainable Marine and Environmental Economy.", the forum was organized by the Department of Resources and Development of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in cooperation with the Pacific Islands Centre (PIC).

Based on the historical ties between the two nations, the forum aimed to promote trade and investment. Following the opening remarks from Ambassador Fritz, Ambassador of the FSM to Japan, and a keynote address from FSM President Simina, who was on an officail visit to Japan, the PIC Director Saito explained the bilateral relations and other relevant topics. Subsequently, officials from the FSM government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) delivered presentations focusing on sectors such as general trade and investment, energy, agriculture, infrastructure development, and tourism. In addition, a networking session was held to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, including businesses, investors, and government agencies.
