Participation in the Environmental Fair

2026/9/23
On September 14, Ambassador KAGOMIYA participated in the Environmental Fair held in Pohnpei State as part of Clean Up Day.

Clean Up Day was established on September 13 each year across the entire jurisdiction of the Micronesian Islands Forum (MIF) (at the time: Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, U.S. Territory of Guam, U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands) at the 2019 MIF, in consideration of the importance of environmental protection and public health. In FSM, it encourages public participation in cleanup activities planned in each state on the same day each year.

At the Environmental Fair, which is one of the Clean Up Day events, environmental clubs from FSM schools presented their activities and were recognized. The natuRable, a student organization from Ritsumeikan University in Japan that visits FSM annually to provide environmental education to children, also participated and introduced their activities. Additionally, booths were set up at the venue by schools, UN agencies, and the JICA Micronesia Office to introduce their activities.
