Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Water Well at Wone Elementary School

On August 14, Ambassador Kagomiya attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Water Well at Wone Elementary School in Pohnpei State.
The project aims to ensure a stable supply of safe and sanitary water at the school by constructing a new water well, thereby improving the educational environment.
The ceremony was attended by traditional leaders of Kitti region, Mr. Jermy W. MUDONG, Senator of the FSM Congress, Mr. McGarry MIGUEL, Vice Speaker of the Pohnpei State Legislature, and Mr. Emerson EPERIAM, Mayor of Kitti Municipal Government.
In his remarks, Ambassador Kagomiya expressed his hope that the new water well would provide a reliable supply of safe and clean water to students and staff at Wone Elementary School, while helping prepare for future water supply needs amid concerns over reduced rainfall during the upcoming dry season due to El Niño.
Acting Governor Herolyn S. MOVICK of Pohnpei State expressed her gratitude for Japan’s continued support for Pohnpei State. She stated that Japan’s assistance has further strengthened the friendly relations between Japan and Pohnpei State. She also expressed her hope that this close and mutually beneficial relationship would continue for many years to come.
Mr. Marson ROSARIO, President of PTA for Wone Elementary School, expressed his appreciation for Japan’s support. He stated that this project would provide not only the school community but also local residents and future students of Wone Elementary School with access to safe and reliable water. He also stated to ensure that the construction work proceeds promptly.
