Ambassador Kagomiya’s Visit to Yap State

From February 28 – March 4, Ambassador Kagomiya made an official visit to Yap State. Ambassador Kagomiya attended the official events of Yap Day, celebrated annually on March 1 in celebration of Yap’s traditional culture, enjoying the traditional dances and display of a canoe, along other events.
During their visit on March 2, Ambassador Kagomiya called on T.H. Francis Itimai, Governor of Yap State, and T.H. Nicholas Figirlaarwon, Speaker of the Yap State Legislature, alongside members of the state legislature. During the courtesy calls, Ambassador Kagomiya discussed the friendly relations between Japan and Yap State looking forward to further collaborations.
Ambassador Kagomiya also visited the monuments erected in memory of the war dead to pray for those who perished during the war in Yap.
