Tokai University's Educational Cruise ‘Bosei Maru'
2026/3/12
On February 25, Ambassador Kagomiya visited Tokai University’s overseas training vessel 'Bosei Maru', which had arrived in Pohnpei carrying more than 100 participants from the university. The educational voyage had departed Shimizu Port, Japan, on February 17, with a 32-day itinerary including stops in Pohnpei State of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau (Koror), and Miyako Island in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan before returning to Shimizu Port on March 20.
During the dinner gathering, Ambassador exchanged the view with the delegation leaders and student representatives about the voyage and the scenery of Pohnpei and later received a briefing on the progress of the voyage. He then delivered a lecture to the students about the FSM and the activities of Embassy of Japan in the FSM. Following the lecture, there was also time for a lively Q&A session with the students.
Ambassador sincerely hopes that through this voyage the students will learn much from the people of the FSM and other destinations about their nature, culture, and history, and wishes them a safe journey.
