Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Primary Healthcare Facility Renovation

On January 26, 2026, Ambassador Kagomiya attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of The Project for the Renovation of a Public Health Building of the Department of Health Services in Pohnpei State.
This facility has been providing tuberculosis program, immunization program, maternal and child health program, family planning programs, along with other essential programs for the communities in Pohnpei State. The renovation of the roof and the ceiling of the building will ensure effective healthcare delivery to the patients, protect vital medical equipment, and create a safer work environment for the health workers.
Ambassador Kagomiya extended his sincere gratitude to the warm welcome by the staff from the Primary Healthcare Division. In his remarks, he stated that Japan has cultivated friendly relations with the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and willing to continue support and promote economic and social development, health, and human security.
The Honorable Stevenson Joseph, Governor of Pohnpei State, also attended the ceremony and emphasized the importance of the shared responsibility for the maintenance of the facility.
