2026/2/5
On January 26, 2026, Ambassador Kagomiya received a courtesy visit from students of the Federated States of Micronesia who had participated in JENESYS2025, the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths program. From the Federated States of Micronesia, two students from the College of Micronesia-FSM visited Japan from January 13 to 21.

At the reporting session, the students presented what they had learned during the program’s theme of “Climate Change and Disaster Prevention.” They also shared their experiences of Japan’s towns, history and culture, as well as their interactions with Japanese students and host families, engaging in an exchange of views with the Ambassador. The students expressed their intention to share the knowledge and experiences they gained with their families, college, and more broadly through social media.

Ambassador Kagomiya emphasized the importance of passing on the knowledge and experiences related to climate change and disaster prevention acquired through the program, and expressed his expectations for further mutual understanding between the two countries through people-to-people exchanges. He also conveyed his heartfelt wishes for the future growth and success of the program participants.
