Courtesy Call on President Simina by JICA Data Collection Survey Team

On January 6, 2026, Ambassador Kagomiya and the JICA Data Collection Survey Team made a courtesy call on President Simina. This Survey Team consisting of Ms. Yuko Tanaka, Deputy Director-General of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Southeast Asia and Pacific Department, and experts from the private sector are visiting the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) to conduct a survey on the two passenger cargo vessels Caroline Voyager and Micronesian Navigator provided under Japan’s Grant Aid, and to survey the commercial ports of the four states of the FSM and the outer islands, to consider providing assistance to provide a new passenger cargo vessel.
The Survey Team exchanged views with President Simina, Secretary Apis, and Acting Secretary Cantero on the passenger cargo vessels and the port facilities.
