Ambassador of Romania visits Ambassador Kagomiya

On December 2, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya received a courtesy call from Her Excellency Răduța Dana Matache, Ambassador of Romania newly accredited to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Ambassador Matache is a non-resident Ambassador with residence in Manila, Philippines.
 
Both Ambassadors discussed the friendly relations between their own countries and the FSM and confirmed that Japan as well as Romania share common values such as rule of law, democracy, and peace with the FSM. They also discussed the economy and development cooperation, and how Japan and Romania can cooperate with each other and with the FSM.
 
Furthermore, on December 1, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya as well as the diplomatic corps attended the Presentation of Credential Ceremony for H.E. Răduța Dana Matache, who presented her Credentials to His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the FSM. In her remarks, Ambassador Matache explained that December 1 is Romania’s National Day (Great Union Day), and that it is meaningful for the first Ambassador of Romania to the FSM to be accredited on its National Day.
