A French Frigate Visiting Pohnpei

On October 8, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya and a few embassy staffs attended the reception held on board of the French Navy Frigate FNS Prairial. The frigate’s homeport is in Tahiti of French Polynesia, and this port call on Pohnpei is the first time in the past 8 years. Ambassador sincerely appreciated the hospitality shown by Commander Faivre d’Arcier, Captain Stephan Litzle, and other French Navy officers and exchanged views with them on the friendly relations of Japan and France with the FSM and other Pacific Island Countries.
Ambassador sincerely hopes that the partnership between Japan and France are strengthened and for both countries to work together for the economic and social development of the FSM and other Pacific Island Countries.
