Newly Appointed UN Resident Coordinator visits Ambassador Kagomiya

On October 20, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya received a courtesy call from Mr. Mamadou Kane, the United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) newly accredited to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Mr. Kane is cross accredited to the five Micronesian countries (FSM, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Marshall Islands) and is based in the FSM.
Ambassador Kagomiya and RC Kane discussed the friendly relations between Japan and the FSM and the ways for economic and social development of the FSM. They also exchanged views on various support and activities by UN agencies, particularly on the projects funded by the Government of Japan and implemented through various UN agencies.
Furthermore, on October 13, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya as well as the diplomatic corps attended the Presentation of Credential Ceremony for Mr. Mamadou Kane, who presented his Credentials to His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia.
