Pohnpei Liberation Day

On September 11, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya and his wife attended the Celebration Event for Pohnpei Liberation Day.
In his special remarks, Governor Stevenson Joseph, looking back at the end of World War II, the origin of the Liberation Day, told that the World has experienced a black history and what was done is what was done and not changeable.
The Governor also emphasized what is required now is to look forward to a peaceful future and that he is willing to contribute to it.
The Ambassador sympathizes with Governor Joseph and reaffirms his determination to contribute to the peaceful development of this country.
Traditional leaders, Speaker Moses of the FSM Congress, former President Christian, the Senators of Pohnpei Legislature as well as the legislatures of other states,the diplomatic corps, athletes, singers, and many citizens have participated in the event.
The participants enjoyed the musical and sports performances including 100 meter sprints and obstacle races.
