The Landing Ceremony of the Project for Building East Micronesia Cable System was held in Kosrae

On August 18, the cable landing ceremony of the Project for Building East Micronesia Cable System was held in Kosrae. The project materialized through the triangular cooperation among the United States, Australia and Japan aims to improve the international telecommunication environment in Kosrae State of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Nauru and Kiribati by installing a submarine optic cable connecting these countries. The Honorable Aren Palik, Vice President of the FSM extended at the ceremony his appreciation to the United States, Australia and Japan, the FSM’s major development partners, for their cooperation and stressed that the project would make it possible for Kosrae State to be linked with the world through the international telecommunication network and thereby ameliorate informational, educational and economic environments in Kosrae State.
