Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for The Project for the Renovation of Gymnasium at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in Pohnpei State

    On March 4th, 2025, Ambassador Kagomiya signed at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School the Grant Contract for ‘the Project for the Renovation of Gymnasium at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in Pohnpei State’ totaling US$98,758 under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects.

   This project is aimed to renovate the existing gymnasium which has deteriorated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School whereby the students can hold their physical education classes under the safe and comfortable environment.  Furthermore, it will be opened for community for meetings and exercise sessions and also used as a provisional evacuation site at the time of emergencies.

   The ceremony was attended by Mr. Emanuel Mori, the Former FSM President, Ms. Merlyn Abello-Alfonso, the Senator, Mr. Russell Figueras, the Principal, and many other dignitaries.
 
  On behalf of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School, the representatives expressed their appreciation for assistance from the Government and people of Japan based on long friendship between Micronesia and Japan.
