Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for The Project for the Construction of Water System for Wone Elementary School in Pohnpei State

On February 21st, 2025, the signing ceremony for ‘The Project for the Construction of Water System for Wone Elementary School in Pohnpei State’ was held at the Embassy of Japan to provide Wone School PTA with the funds up to US$99,859 under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects by the Government of Japan.
This project is aimed to build a well at Wone Elementary School in order to enable the students to use safe and clean water everyday when washing hands and taking bathroom without risks of water-borne diseases.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Stanley Etse, Director of Department of Education, Pohnpei State Government, Ms. Phyllis Silbanuz, Chairwoman of Pohnpei Board of Directors, Mr. Charles Amusten, Principal of Wone School and Embassy staff.
On behalf of Wone Elementary School, the representatives expressed their appreciation for assistances from the Government and people of Japan based on long friendship between Micronesia and Japan.
