World Food Day

On October 16, 2024, Ambassador Kagomiya attended the World Food Day event focusing on sustainable foods and healthy eating life, which was held by Cooperative Research and Extension(CRE) of the College of Micronesia with support from UNICEF, Pohnpei Department of Education, and the Pohnpei Research and Development Office.
In the event, seedlings of various vegetables, fruits and others were prepared, and agricultural and nutritional training activities were provided. Cooking competition using local foods, such as bananas, breadfruits, coconuts, and taro, between the representatives of high school students and parents gathered attention of participants.
T.H. Palik, Vice President, T.H. Joseph, Governor of the Pohnpei State, and Mr. Bacareza, Chief of UNICEF North Pacific Field Office made remarks and T.H. Akinaga, Secretary of Resource and Development, the Diplomatic Corps, as well as many students from various high schools participated in the events.
