Farewell Reception for Japanese students participating Micronesia Children Exchange Program

On August 4, 2024, the Pohnpei State Government kindly held a farewell reception for the Japanese students coming to Pohnpei under the Micronesia Children Exchange Program.
Japanese students have enjoyed various precious experience such as spending a night at Bikini Island with Pohnpei students. They also stayed at host family houses and were warmly welcomed by them. The host families kindly presented them Pohnpei skirts and native accessories, which they were wearing at the reception. At the reception, the Japanese students demonstrated Pohnpei music performance together with Pohnpeian students and sang a Japanese song.
Ambassador Kagomiya extended sincere gratitude to the Pohnpei State Government, the host families and all the Pohnpei people for their heart-warming hospitality in his remark at the reception. Ms. Belsipa Isom, Acting Governor of the Pohnpei State, and Mr.Peter Ramirez, Acting Director of Department of Education, also made farewell remarks and encouraged the Japanese students.
