Courtesy call by BHN Association, conducting a remote medical project

On August 2nd, Ambassador Kagomiya received a courtesy call by BHN Association, Non-Governmental Organization, which has been conducting telemedicine pilot project funded by Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) to improve healthcare services in rural areas in the FSM, and its project’s members. In this project, the BHN Association has provided dispensaries in the Pohnpei State with remote fetal monitors developed by Melody International Ltd. in order to enable doctors in the State Hospital to offer remote perinatal care services to pregnant mothers in rural areas. The project has also provided the training opportunities, including training in Japan, for medical personnel in the Pohnpei State to enable them to continue remote perinatal care and its related duties.
