Japanese children participating Micronesia Children Exchange Program

2024/8/2
On July 31, Ambassador Kagomiya welcomed Japanese children who are currently visiting the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) under the “Micronesia Children Exchange Program”, and spoked about the friendly relationship between Japan and the FSM. The program has been held annually by the National Institution for Youth Education. Under the program, more than 50 Japanese children are dispatched to the FSM, Palau, and the Marshall Island while more than 80 children from these 3 Micronesian countries were invited to Japan this year.

In the evening, the Pohnpei State Government kindly hosted a welcoming reception for the students. Ms. Belsipa Isom, Acting Governor, and Mr. Stanley S. Etse, Director of Education, both from Pohnpei State Government, as well as Ambassador Kagomiya made welcoming remarks at the reception. Japanese students sang a Japanese song from Okinawa islands, southern-west part of Japan, in return.

Hope the students will enjoy nature, lives and friendship of Micronesia.
