Embassy of Japan hosts Emperor’s Birthday Reception

On February 23rd, 2023, H.E. Nobuo Kagomiya, Ambassador of Japan to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), hosted Emperor’s Birthday Reception at his residence.
           
At the begging of his address, Ambassador Kagomiya celebrated the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor, who is going to turn 64 years old on February 23, 2024. Ambassador Kagomiya described Japan-the FSM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Tokyo in December 2023 as well as the latest Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Fiji on the fringe of the 5th PALM Ministerial Interim Meeting. He added to say that he looked forward to welcoming President Simina for the PALM 10 which is going to be held in Tokyo in July 2024.

The Hon. Lorin S. Robert, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, congratulated on His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday on behalf of the government of the FSM and expressed that it has been honored for him to receive many friends from Japan to the FSM including Ambassador Kagomiya, under the special bond "kizuna" between the two countries. He also thanked the government of Japan, including JICA and OFCF, for its generous support to the FSM.

The reception was attended by around 100 people, including the Hon. Stevenson A. Joseph, the federal and states governments officers, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, and Japanese residents.

The guests enjoyed the conversations with food, Japanese sake and wines.
