Ambassador Kagomiya’s Visit to Ice Machine Facility in Pohnlangas

On February 8, Ambassador Kagomiya visited the Pohnlangas Ice machine Facility, operated by the Pohnpei State Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture (OFA).
The facility is located at Pohnlangas area in the Madolenihmw Municipality of Pohnpei Island and is an essential facility for local fishing communities. Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation of Japan (OFCF), which has a sub-branch office on the island, has maintained ice machines provided by OFCF through for over 20 years.
Ambassador Kagomiya received a detailed explanation from Mr. Kazuhisa Uchida, Resident Representative of the OFCF FSM Office, Shinji Sakamoto, Expert of OFCF and Mr. Danker Abraham, Administrator of OFA, and deepened his understanding of the importance of the facility in the region and the ongoing efforts of the Foundation.
