Water rescue training by the Japan Coast Guard’s Mobile Cooperation Team

On January 19, Ambassador Kagomiya went to observe the water rescue training provided by the Japan Coast Guard Mobile Cooperation Team to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) Maritime Wing and the National Maritime Police. This training project was conducted from January 15 to 19 as a part of the Japan Coast Guard’s technical support program on maritime safety and security to maritime safety agencies in foreign countries under cooperation with the Nippon Foundation and Sasakawa Peace Foundation. At the demonstration shown on January 19, trainees from the FSM Maritime Wing undertook a water rescue simulation training by using equipment provided by the Japan Coast Guard.
The demonstration was being observed by Mr. Leonito Bacaland Jr. Acting Secretary of the Department of Justice too.
