Japanese Cultural Event

On September 20, a Japanese cultural event was held at the Ambassador’s residence.
We welcomed Ms. Yoriko Suwa, a teacher of Ikenobo which is the origin of Ikebana, and hosted the Ikebana classes Participants enjoyed Ikebana and learned how to utilize instruments and its sense of beauty and philosophy. Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement.
Local students and diplomatic colleagues also enjoyed Yukata (casual summer kimono) fitting, Japanese calligraphy, Origami and Japanese snacks.
