On March 29, 2023, the launch ceremony for project to improving WASH access in public facilities in Chuuk State was held at the Chuuk State Government Building in Weno.
The project will target 35,000 people on 13 islands in Chuuk State with the aim of preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. Specifically, the project will install hand-washing stations in public facilities such as town halls and churches, and conduct awareness-raising activities on hygiene practices and infectious disease control.
Japan will contribute US$870,000 for this assistance, which will be implemented through IOM.
