Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) JS KIRISAME conducted Japan-FSM Goodwill Exercise

On July 29 – 31, 2022, JMSDF the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022(IPD22) unit, JS KIRISAME, conducted a goodwill exercise with the Federated States of Micronesia Border Control and Maritime Surveillance (FSM BCMS) Operation Center in the vicinity of the FSM.
It was the first exercise between Japan and the FSM, and it included COMMEX and Information Exchange Exercise among other exercises. The exercise is expected to contribute to improve JMSDF’s tactical capabilities and promote mutual understanding between JMSDF and the FSM BCMS. Furthermore it is also expected to strengthen the bilateral cooperation to realize “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
