Embassy of Japan Hosts Emperor’s Birthday Reception

 On Friday March 18, 2022, Amassador Michigami Hisashi hosted a reception to celebrate Emperor’s birthday at his residence. The reception was held by installing hand sanitizers in various locations as a precaution for COVID-19.
 
 In his address, Ambassador Michigami noted that His Majesty the Emperor, who turned 62 years old on February 23, 2022 has always concerned about the happiness of people and world peace. He also mentioned about 130 years of friendly relations between Japan and the FSM, and expressed his pleasure of being able to contribute to the people of the FSM through various assistance by the Government of Japan.
 
 H.E. David W. Panuelo, President of the FSM, who represented the Government of the FSM, congratulated the birthday of the Emperor of Japan, noted that the FSM and Japan have the special bond “Kizuna” that has been for more than a century, and expressed his desire to further strengthening the relationship between the two countries. He also thanked Japan for its continued various cooperation to the FSM.
 
 In addition to President Panuelo, the ceremony was attended by more than 109 people, including the Hon. Secretary Akinaga, Resources & Development, the Hon. Secretary Amor, Department of Finance and Administration, the Hon. Secretary Samo, Department of Health and Social Affairs, the Hon. Secretary Yatilman, Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management, Ambassadors of China, the United States, and Australia, representatives of the International Organizations, and Japanese residents.
 
 The guests enjoyed the conversations with Japanese sake and wines.
