Lecture by Ambassador Horie at Tokai University Vessel “Bosei Maru”

     Tokai University’s research vessel, “Bosei Maru” and 116 students arrived Pohnpei on February 22nd and Ambassador Horie gave a lecture to the students about diplomatic history and the future of Japan and the FSM. Mr. Shibata, Resident Representative of JICA , Ms. Ogawa, JICA volunteer and Mr. Itou, the director of TMC also gave lectures about their activities, jobs and experiences in FSM. Each speaker spoke about Japan and Micronesia with a different point of view, and the students were interested in all the lectures and listened carefully.
     This is the 49th Over Seas Education Cruise and the students of Tokai University cruise four Ocean-Pacific countries within 42 days. The FSM was the first country they visited after they left Japan, and their next destination is the Republic of Vanuatu. It will take 6 days to travel from Pohnpei to Vanuatu.
