Lecture by Ambassador Horie at Tokai University Vessel “Bosei Maru”

Tokai University’s research vessel, “Bosei Maru” with 111 students called at Pohnpei Port on March 17th and Ambassador Horie gave a lecture to the students about the FSM.
After Ambassador Horie’s presentation, Mr. Shibata, Resident Representative of JICA explained about Japan’s ODA to the FSM. Mr. Misawa, a senior JICA volunteer, also shared his activities at Department of Education, Pohnpei State Government. Although the students were surprised by the cultural differences between Japan and the FSM, they enjoyed listening the presentations.
This is the 50th Over Seas Education Cruise and this time, the students of Tokai University cruised four Ocean-Pacific countries (French Polynesia, Easter Island, the Independent State of Samoa and the FSM) within 47 days.
