From September 5th to 10th, the Embassy of Japan in the FSM invited a famous acapella group known as “INSPi” from Japan in order to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the FSM.

During their stay in Pohnpei, INSPi conducted a series of workshops and concerts at different schools and churches. The workshops were participated by more than 300 people such as the students of COM-FSM music class, Our Lady of Mercy (OLM) high school and Pohnpei Catholic School, Pacific Mission Aviation (PMA) Youth and St. Joseph Church Choir Club in Awak.

On September 7th, two concerts were held at COM- FSM Gym and the PMA Auditorium. Another concert took place at OLM Gym on September 8th. In total, more than 1,000 people from various sectors, including members of the Diplomatic Corps enjoyed their “spiritual” and “inspirational” voices (this is where the name of the group “INSPi” derives from) and performances. During the concert they had a mini lecture for voice percussion and sang “Sukiyaki” song together with the workshop participants. The hall was filled with beautiful harmony made by the group and participants.
