Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for the Project for Refuse Collection Compactor Truck in Yap State

Handing over the signed Grant Contract
  On September 25, 2019, a Grant Contract Signing Ceremony was held at Yap State Governor’s Office for “the Project for Refuse Collection Compactor Truck in Yap State”, which provided to the Department of Public Works & Transportation, State of Yap, with $89,546 under the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects. This project intends to provide one (1) Refuse Collection Compactor Truck, in order to ensure effective refuse collection service to make the residents living in Yap main island clean, safe, sanitary and happy.
 
 The Hon. Henry S. Falan, Governor of Yap State, showed his gratitude for the generous assistance from the Government of Japan. He also mentioned that with this project people in Yap will be ensured a clean and safe environment. Mr. Sugiyama, Charge d‘Affaires ad interim, introduced Japanese assistance in Yap State and stated importance of appropriate waste disposal.
 
  The Hon. Governor Henry S. Falan, the Hon. Lt. Governor Jesse Salau, officials from Yap State Government, representatives from the Department of Public Works & Transportation, and JICA senior volunteers, witnessed the ceremony.
