Japan Night for Celebrating Inauguration

Japan Night was hosted at the residence of Japanese Ambassdor Masaki Sakai on the eve of the Joint National Inauguration Ceremony, which was held July 10.
Among the many distinguished guests were FSM President Mr. Peter Cristian, RMI President Mr. Loeak, FSM Vice President Mr. Yosiwo George, Foreign Secretary Mr. Lorin Robert, Speaker of the FSM Congress Mr. Wesley Simina, FSM Senator and Chair of the Education Mr. Joseph Urusemal, Yap State Governor Mr. Ganngiyan, Chuuk State Governor Mr. Elimo, US Ambassador to the FSM Ms. Rosen, US Ambassador to the RMI Mr. Armbruster.
Special guest for the night Mr. Furuya, who has been a Japanese Diet member for 25 years and is one of the most experienced statesmen in Japan, made a welcome and congratulatory remark for the memorable occasion and unequivocally conveyed his and Prime Minister Abe’s strong determination to further promote two countries’ friedship, which is based upon a long term historical relationship.
Mr. Furuya is presidnet of Japan-FSM Parliamentary Friendship League and visited the FSM as Ambassador on the Speicial Occasion, which is the highest rank of special envoy of the Prime Minister of Japan in order to attend the ceremonies of the Joint Inaugural Celebration.
