Signing Grant Contract for the Project for Improvement of Educational Environment for Malem Elementary School in Kosrae State

The project for construction of auditorium was signed over to Kosrae State Department of Education on March 19, 2015 through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects. This project will provide 173,095 USD for the school.
 
For over many years Malem Elementary School lacks a facility to accommodate its extracurricular activities and programs. In the context of the community of Malem, the community also lacks a facility to accommodate public health outreach programs as well as general assemblies and physical fitness programs and activities for the municipality.
 
The aim for this project is to provide a facility that will foster community cooperation among the residents of Malem and to promote physical fitness programs and personal development programs. The main intended beneficiaries include school children, school staff and faculties, parents, public health programs and community.
 
Upon completion, the project is expected to provide the residents of Malem and school children with a safe space to accommodate for: Malem Elementary School activities and all other extracurricular activities, public health programs to conduct its health outreach programs, and community social programs including sports development programs and other related physical fitness programs.
