Japan Grants Surgical Equipment to Pohnpei State Hospital

Pohnpei State Hospital and Embassy of Japan welcome this New Year by finalizing the Project for Procuring Surgical and Emergency Surgical Equipment that was signed over to the hospital on September 4, 2014. On January 14, 2015 the project was kicked off with both sides rooting for the best outcome. Pohnpei State will benefit greatly through this project by upgrading the quality of health care, increasing the number of outpatients and inpatients. This project provided $89, 475 for the Hospital.
At the handing over ceremony, Ambassador Masaki Sakai presented his remarks hoping that granted equipment contributes to enhancing medical service. Representing the Hospital,Mr. Paulino Rosario,Director of Department of Health Services stated that the equipment is a lifesaving. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous grant and he made sure the equipment functions at all times.
Present at the ceremony were government officials, staff ofthe Hospital and of the Japanese Embassy.
