Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School Completes Gymnasium

Earlier this year on January 29, 2014 the Embassy of Japan signed over to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School (OLMCHS) $166,580 to construct a gymnasium. On October 23, 2014 the project was finally completed and handed over to the school.
The purpose of the gymnasium is not only to provide a safe and functional space to exercise and congregate for students of the OLMCHS but also to promote community activities such as stage plays, art exhibitions and other cultural activities by opening to the public.
H.E Masaki Sakai, Ambassador of Japan to the FSM gave short remarks expressing his delight for the completion of such a great project. In return, OLMCHS was represented by Chief Justice Benjamin Rodriguez, also President of PTA who acknowledged Ambassador for the generous donation and stated that they assure to make use of the gymnasium, Principle Sr. Isabel Seman who said that it is a “dream come true” and express their gratitude.
The ceremony was witnessed by FSM President Emanuel Mori and his wife Mrs. Emma Mori, government officials, school facilities, students, and staff of the Embassy of Japan.
