2019 Autumn Conferment of Decoration

On November 3^rd, 2019, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2019 Autumn Imperial Decorations. Mr. Kasio E. Mida is among this year’s recipients. In recognition of his contributions to strengthening the bilateral ties and promoting friendly relations between Japan and the Federated States of Micronesia, he will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star.

As the 3rd FSM Ambassador to Japan during 2004 to 2008, he contributed to developing the foundation of a strong, friendly, and cooperative relations between Japan and the FSM. Moreover, as the Chief of Staff, he supported then President Emanuel Manny Mori, including accompanying the President’s visit to Japan in November 2008, May 2009 and November 2010, and seeing that the relevant events proceed smoothly when former Prime Minister Yoshiro  Mori visited the FSM in September 2008 to celebrate the 20 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and the FSM, thus greatly contributing to strengthening the two countries’ ties.
