Ambassador Sobashima Presents Credentials to President Panuelo

  Ambassador Sobashima Hidenobu presented his credentials to the FSM President H.E. David Panuelo at the President’s Office on October 18, 2019. Ambassador Sobashima arrived in Pohnpei with his wife Chikako on October 7.

  At the ceremony, Ambassador Sobashima conveyed the message from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan to H.E. President Panuelo, and Ambassador Sobashima expressed his determination to do his best to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and the FSM. President Panuelo warmly welcomed the arrival of Ambassador Sobashima in the FSM, giving him a local necklace, and expressed his wish to continuously strengthen the FSM’s friendly ties with Japan.

  The ceremony was witnessed by the Hon. Lorin Robert, Special Consultant on Foreign Affairs to the President, the Hon. Kalwin Kephas, Secretary of Education, Mr. Leo Falcam, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President, the Hon. Samson Pretrick, Advisor in the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the other senior FSM Governments officials, as well as Mrs. Sobashima, Mr. Sugiyama Koji, Deputy Chief of Mission of  the Embassy of Japan, and Ms. Iizuka Airi, Advisor and Researcher of the Embassy of Japan.
