Sharon Kilafwakun of Pohnpei to participate in Japan Foundation Program

 

The Japan Foundation is organizing a program for students studying Japanese language. The program labeled “Study-Tour Award for Outstanding Students of the Japanese Language” selected Ms. Sharon Kilafwakun of Pohnpei, FSM to participate in this remarkable program. The duration of the program will run from August 28, 2013 to September 11, 2013.

 

Ms.Kilafwakun will be given the opportunity to visit the attractive cities of Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Tokyo. In addition, she will experience everyday life and habits of Japanese families through “home visit” where she will reside with a Japanese family.

 

During her visit to the Embassy of Japan in the FSM, Ambassador Eiichi Suzuki congratulated her on her selection and shared descriptions of the locations that she will be visiting in Japan. Ms. Kilafwakun is currently studying Japanese language at the Pohnpei Japanese Language School and will have studied Japanese language for more than 4 years by the time she departs for this program. One of her future ambitions is to one day study Business Accounting in Japan.
