Signing Ceremony of Exchange of Notes and Grant Agreement between Embassy of Japan and FSM

     On April 1, 2016, Signing Ceremony of Exchange of Notes between Embassy of Japan and FSM for procurement services under two Japan’s Grant Aid (total 1.4 billion Japanese Yen: about 11.7 million US dollars) was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence. The singers were Ambassador Masaki Sakai ,Embassy of Japan in FSM and The Honorable Lorin S. Robert, Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs in FSM.

     Under a grant scheme called Japan’s Grant Aid for Economic and Social Development Programme (total 200 million Japanese Yen: about 1.7 million US dollars), Embassy of Japan provides FSM with Japan-made equipments to support the promotion of the economic and social development of FSM.

    Under a grant scheme called Japan’s Grant Aid for the Project for Power Sector Improvement for the State of Kosrae, (total 1.2 billion Japanese Yen: about 10 million US dollars), diesel engine generator and associated substation and distribution facilities in Kosrae State will be renewed to secure supply of efficient and stable power supply, and thereby contribute to improvement of lifestyle for the citizens of Micronesia

    The event was witnessed by Embassy of Japan Deputy Chief of Mission Shingo Higashimoto, FSM Department of Foreign Affairs of Director of Mongkeya, and staff of Embassy of Japan and DFA.
